Summary
You will serve as a TRAINING INSTRUCTOR in the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS).
Announcement covers both Temporary Not to Exceed One Year and Permanent appointments that will be determined with each request.
Responsibilities
You will conduct need assessments and task analyses to determine learning objectives.
You will prepare lesson plans and training materials based on course objectives.
You will be responsible for improving and modifying the training for assigned courses.
You will conduct training and assess progress of students in meeting desired objectives, including advising and assisting them to improve their performance.

Work may require lifting and moving heavy items.
Must be able to wear personal type safety equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Work requires frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, working in cramped positions, and climbing.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
For the GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing classroom instruction in the practical application of trades theories, practices and technical requirements in addition to determining instructional approach, and developing course content and student evaluations.
Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree; OR
Successful completion of an LL.M. which is related to the duties of the position; OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
For the GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector preparing lesson plans and providing classroom instruction in the practical application of trades theories, practices and technical requirements.
Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree; OR
Obtained an LL.B. or J.D.; OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
