Summary
About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is with the Headquarters, Department of the Army, G-2, MI Support, Stable Shadow Program, located at Fort Bragg, NC.
Responsibilities
Serve as a Department of Defense (DOD) certified interrogator.
Apply techniques of elicitation, debriefing, interrogation, and interviewing in a systematic manner through direct/indirect questioning to obtain information of intelligence value.
Plan, coordinate, and execute highly specialized, mission critical interrogation, exploitation, and detainee related requirements for Joint Chief of Staff-directed operations and contingency plans.
Prepare plans and strategies in support of complex tactical mission requirements.
Assist in making decisions involving interrogation, exploitation, and detainee operations management during peace, conflict, or war based on the interpretation of law, policy, regulations, and practices.
Collaborate internally and externally with peers, staff, various intelligence agencies, Department of State, and Combatant Commands to ensure that interrogation, exploitation and detainee related requirements are satisfied.
Serve as a multi-disciplined intelligence analyst; conducting specialized research, evaluation, interpretation, and analysis using publications, documents, reports and debriefings in response to established requirements.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
Position is designated as Emergency-Essential.
Must sign a mobility agreement.
A medical examination and immunization screening are required.
Will be required to comply with the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
Position may require employee to wear a uniform and/or protective clothing.
Will be expected to live in field conditions.
May be required to work irregular shifts/hours.
May be required to undergo psychological testing depending on organizational assignment.
May be required to perform duties under austere and potentially hazardous conditions (to include inclement weather) during exercises and deployment operations.
May be required to deploy into areas in which hostile action may occur.
Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete counter-intelligence scope polygraph with No Deception Indicated (NDI).
Subject to short notice recall. Must reside within normal commuting distance of Fort Bragg (50 miles).
Must be able to comply with all federal agency security and medical requirements in order to obtain Staff-Like-Access. Must be able to maintain qualifications for required access to perform temporary duty with other government agencies as directed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized experience is defined as experience which includes intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and/or operations and conduct interrogations.
Progressively responsible experience is that which has included Human Intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and/or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
NOTE: Creditable specialized experience may include previous military intelligence experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower grade in the series.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GG/GS-11).
